Muzikant, architect van klank en mentor

Met meer dan 25 jaar ervaring aan de toetsen, in de studio en op het podium, zie ik muziek als een samenspel van techniek en intuïtie. Mijn basis ligt in de klassieke traditie en de jazz, maar mijn passie ligt bij het grenzeloze: het creëren van een eigen sound, of dat nu solo op een vleugel is of in een complexe productie.

1. De Pianist & Multi-Instrumentalist
Mijn reis begon aan het Utrechts Conservatorium en de Hochschule für Musik in Keulen, waar ik werd gevormd door grootheden als Bert van den Brink, Jasper van ‘t Hofen John Taylor. Of ik nu in Paradiso sta of een intieme klassieke opname maak: de focus ligt altijd op de ademhaling van de muziek. Naast de piano beheers ik de taal van drums, bas en gitaar, wat mij in een unieke positie plaatst als coach en producer.

2. De Componist & Producer
Als componist vertaal ik concepten naar klank. Mijn werk is bekroond met meerdere awards en wordt gewaardeerd door iconen als Steve Reich en Paul Simon. Van cinematische soundtracks tot de productie voor artiesten uit diverse stijlen: ik zoek altijd naar de 'architectuur' achter de track. Ik help artiesten niet alleen om op te nemen, maar om hun arrangementen naar een internationaal niveau te tillen.

3. De Recording Engineer
Een goede opname is een momentopname van de ziel. Ik specialiseer me in high-fidelity stereo-opnames voor klassiek en jazz op locatie. Met de oren van een muzikant en de precisie van een engineer creëer ik een natuurlijk, transparant klankbeeld waarin elk detail de ruimte krijgt die het verdient.
